The Boring Bit of Sashing

I’ve been working really hard to catch up on my blogging, but I can’t seem to get this article out the door.

The problem is, there’s absolutely nothing interesting to say about this four-block bit of sashing.

The section wasn’t full of problematic blocks. One block had points to line up with the sashing strips, and the other three had skinny logs that needed to be kept a consistent width, but it wasn’t difficult to do at all.

I don’t have any quilt-adjacent activities to talk about. I took this bit of sashing on a vacation, foolishly packing it, an advanced difficulty block, and another batch of sashing for a 48-hour trip. It was too hot out, and I didn’t even get halfway through this one set of sashing on the trip. A very short, low-drama story.

And I don’t have any new quilt-related tools or tips for you … unless you count air-conditioning as an important quilt-related tool (and frankly, I do, but there’s just not that much to say about it).

I wrote not too long ago about how the sashing articles are getting pretty repetitive and boring, and this one is no exception.

To make things worse, the last two blocks were my last instance of two blocks in a row. Now there’s a one-to-one relationship between remaining blocks and remaining sashing segments, so I’ll be alternating from here on out.

Since I alternate posting my articles on two different Dear Jane Facebook groups, that means one of those poor groups will get stuck with all boring sashing articles from this point on. Maybe I’ll occasionally post an article in both groups, just to mix things up a bit.

Also, remember that you can scroll down to the bottom of any page on the blog and enter your email address in the “Subscribe to Blog via Email” section to get an email notification every time I publish a new article, boring or not.

Well, I think I’ve said enough (really, everything there is to say about this sashing and then some), so I’ll wrap up this article. On to the next boring bit of sashing!
