I finished most of this (my May sashing goal) during the world’s longest quilt guild board meeting in mid-April.
I know, I’m not getting around to blogging about it until the very end of May, so it kind of undercuts how ahead of schedule I am right now, but trust me, I am way ahead of schedule on the actual stitching, if not the blogging!
I’m not sure if I’ll be able to continue this pace, or if this is just leftover productivity flow from retreat at the beginning of April.
My original plan (well, I keep changing the plan, so maybe we call it my plan from the recent past) was to finish the quilt top at the 11-year mark (and we’re just at the 9-year mark now).
But whether it’s leftover retreat flow or not, the momentum is carrying me forward faster than expected, and I may have to change the plan yet again.
This sashing segment was preposterously easy, which only helped to build the momentum. Three of the four segments had sashing-style strips around the block itself, or were simple nine-patch-style blocks that were easy to sash. Only one of the four blocks had any points that needed to line up with the sashing.
I’m so far ahead of schedule that, when I noticed that the previous block was number 199, I decided I was going to tackle a monster block for my 200th. Stay tuned for the recounting of those exciting adventures!
