With this batch of sashing, attached to three other batches in the bottom left, I’ve now completed eight of the nine “nonants” (the nine sections in the center of this quilt).
Theoretically, I could attach it to the center left section (Blocks E1-I4), but I couldn’t get much farther than that until I finish the top left nonant too.
So, instead, I decided to really celebrate the completion of this section. I’ve got a small quilt hanger my sister got me a few years ago, but I rarely have anything totally completed to put on it.
This is why, at the time I finished sashing this nonant at the end of March, my Santa wall hanging was still in pride of place at the end of the hallway.
I took down Santa, hung up the quilt hanger in his place, and attached the sashed and soon-to-be celebrated nonant to the hanger with cafe curtain clips:

Sure, it’s got some ragged edges (that red fabric sure is ravelly!), and it doesn’t quite hang straight, but I can celebrate this Dear Jane accomplishment every time I walk down the hall.
At some point I will take it down and stitch it to the center left section, but for right now, it’s time to celebrate!
